Walsall had enough chances to put this game to bed in the first half. An excellent early strike from Daniel Kanu set Walsall on their way but missed chances kept the game on a knife edge.
A lucky deflection got Shrewsbury level in a 2nd half they dominated but Walsall switched on again and went close with the excellent Courtney Clarke after a solo run hit the bar, then another chance went begging when Clarke again pulled a ball back for Jamie Jellis but his shot was deflected around the post.
S&S steelstock Performance Rating – 6/10 with Walsall’s Jeckle and Hyde first to 2nd half comparisons it’s always difficult to pin a number on it.
