“Since retiring as a player, I have continued my coaching and football education, both in terms of my professional qualifications, and through practical experience.
Away from the field of play, I place a high priority on integrating myself in to both the football and the wider community, working closely with supporter groups and club staff to help achieve our collective goals.
Beyond my own employment, I am an ambassador for various organisations and charities, and held the role of PFA Chairman for the final five years of my playing career. I am passionate about the game of football, from the grassroots to the elite level and my empathetic nature leads me to support both groups and issues I feel deserve my time and help. I am also delighted and humbled to receive the honour of an MBE for services to football.”
