MK Away Preview, the foundation event and other news

We are not travelling to MK today for several reasons but hopefully we will have some coverage from Frankie, Jimmy and Mat.

I had a good chat with Luca on the channel ahead of the game https://youtube.com/live/bAzjQhDRPTg?feature=share

Mat Sadler made a couple of interesting points in his prematch chat with Paul Jouannu. He pointed out the superb proven experience that MK have compared to Walsall but still insisted he is still very happy with our squad.

Whilst we operate a significantly smaller budget than MK, we have shown we can compete and todays game does provide a test of our credentials for this season.

We wait and see if Daniel Kanu gets a start of will be on the bench again and same for Ryan Finnigan who may get a start ahead of Jamie Jellis who was nursing a minor injury in Tuesday’s open training session. Another player hoping for a place on the bench is Ronan Maher who has been getting some press attention this week.

As for the game, we expect to see a more direct MK under Paul Warne which may suit us, but as i mentioned on my preview with Luca, the midfield battle is the biggest challenge. MK have Will Collar, Liam Kelly and Alex Glilbey who are all established professional at this level and above. The more youthful legs in our midfield will hopefully stem their flow.

In other news, the Walsall Fan TV 7-aside team had their first training session ahead of the Wolves Content Creators cup on the 6th Sept, kick off 10.00am We are raising money for the Walsall FC Foundation and at the time of writing we have raised £190 towards our £1000 total. If you could spare some money to contribute that would be appreciated as we head into custard bowl territory hoping to upset the gold and black army of content creators.
