Tranmere offered plenty and former Walsall keeper Joe Murphy at 44, showed he is still up there as he grabbed their man of the match.
As for Walsall, a resilient performance capped off with four excellent goals. The first two were demonstrations of brilliance from Evan Weir, another free kick and a superb volley. The third came from an excellent run inside from Connor Barrett to set up Daniel Kanu who proved what a composed finisher he is as he scored for the 3rd game running. The fourth from Albert Adomah was created by the energetic Courtney Clarke who threaded the ball through the eye of a needle and then Albert calmly slotted home.
