Pete O’Rourke has indicated Walsall have added to our wingback options with Jid Okeke, a 20yr old loanee from League One Stockport. He was on loan at Rochdale in the National League last season but only made 8 apps due to an injury. It’s not the most inspiring of signings with him only having played a few games last season.
If we are looking to replace the injured Mason Hancock then we could have taken Max Melbourne on a free, he is now 26 and had played both L1 and L2 before being released by Morecambe. He has recently signed for Gateshead.
Another possible is 31 year old RB Luke Hendrie who has just left Morecambe by mutual consent, who could offer some experienced cover if Connor Barrett was to be sold.
Walsall apparently pulled out of deal to sign, 20 yrs old, Isaac Lee a 6’5″ CB from Flint Town United.
